Safe Family Coloring Book

Children who have been exposed to domestic violence or physical abuse sometimes see their experience as “normal,” and don’t understand the characteristics of a safe family. For relatives, counselors and others, The Safe Family Coloring Book uses non-threatening, insightful drawings and text to encourage children to color so they can distinguish and talk about an abusive environment versus a safe one. The Safe Family Coloring Book is designed to help children understand the characteristics of a safe family. Children who have been exposed to domestic violence or physical abuse frequently do not realize that they are living in unsafe environments. The coloring book outlines and demonstrates types of unsafe environments and emphasizes that children need to live in safe environments. This coloring book is ideal for counselors to use in helping children understand the difference between abusive environments and safe environments.
